Congratulations to I-Ching Tseng on her prestigious appointment as one of four Australian designees to the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) Conciliator and Arbitrator Panels.
I-Ching is appointed alongside Justin Gleeson, Sean Marriott[BE1] and Anthea Roberts. These appointments are until July 5, 2030.
ICSID is the world’s leading institution devoted to international investment dispute settlement. It has administered the majority of all international investment cases and States have agreed on ICSID as a forum for investor-State dispute settlement in most international investment treaties and in numerous investment laws and contracts.
I-Ching is a senior and experienced arbitration, litigation and disputes lawyer who has been responsible for the conduct of numerous cross-border arbitrations for multimillion dollar disputes under ICC, SIAC, CIETAC, HKIAC, London and UNCITRAL Rules.
Additionally, I-Ching has served as an Arbitral Secretary in ICC arbitrations, assisting with procedural aspects, research and preparation of procedural orders and awards.
Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin, Japanese and English, I-Ching advises clients on strategy, risk management, regulatory and compliance requirements, and internal investigations. She has experience in corporate governance, regulatory and compliance, and has worked across various industries including energy, oil and gas, mining and resources, renewables, infrastructure and investor-state disputes.
